Perplexing Produce

Yesterday's CSA deliver raised some questions. A group of five yellow bulbous items about the size of a lemon had me scratching my head, wondering what they were. Cutting into one of the fruits revealed the core and scent of a cucumber and reminded me that I had selected lemon cucumbers this week out of curiosity. This cucumber variety is named because of it's similar appearance to a lemon, not because they smell or taste anything like them.

  1. They are lovely; it is best to get the seeds out though - they can bring a bitter taste. We bought a few in Hellertown at the Farmers Market this past werkend. Enjoy!
