A Year of Good Everyday Things (2011)



Canal house cookbooks sit above Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Moses the singing bird once belonged to my grandfather. A print of grasshopper illustrations by Academy of Natural Sciences entomologist Dan Otte hangs behind Oliver the faux owl (taxidermy is for the birds) and field mice bone art by Anne Swoyer, both under a glass cloche.
