Finds: Postwar Schoolhouse Chair

Roadside on Route-1 in Maryland, a tent piled high in antique furniture like pick-up sticks was the perfect excuse to stop and walk the kids. The elderly and very tan woman who ran the roadside flea market produced this 1940s schoolhouse chair made of bent angle iron and steam bent birch ply. $4.00? The minty blue paint -- old, though definitely not original -- sealed the deal for me. Welcome to my porch.
